The music of Joshua C. DeLozier (b. 1998) seeks an integration of form and content to create richly varied interrelationships between ideas at different scales of time. His works delight in the sensuous and opulent harmonic vocabulary of high modernity with an emphasis on dramatic melodic gestures.

He has worked with ensembles such as the Zodiac Trio, the Toledo Symphony Orchestra, The Rhythm Method quartet, and the Baylor University Symphony Orchestra. Soloists with whom DeLozier has collaborated with include Charlotte Merz, Amy Petrongelli, Carolyn Anderson, and Thomas Kolor.

His music has been heard at the Lake George Music Festival, at June in Buffalo, and on WGTE Public Media’s radio program “Morning Classics.” His works have been recognized by Bowling Green State University’s Competitions in Music Performance (Composition Division Finalist, 2022 and 2023) and by the ASCAP Foundation Morton Gould Young Composer Awards (Finalist, 2025). In July 2024, he was a resident artist at Arts Letters & Numbers.

An active pianist, his repertoire spans from J.S. Bach to the music of our own time, such as compositions by Charles Wuorinen and Michael Hersch. Additionally, he is the co-founder of Ex Corde, an organization that curates concerts of contemporary music in New York City.

He received his BM from Baylor University (summa cum laude), his MM from Bowling Green State University, and is currently pursuing a DMA at Manhattan School of Music.
